Transportation Options on the Island

Whether by car or taxi, it’s easy for guests at Secret Harbour Beach Resort to explore the scenic beauty and vibrant markets of St. Thomas. Guests looking for an island-hopping adventure can take advantage of the nearby ferries that run between St. Thomas, St. John and the British Virgin Islands.

Please note that Secret Harbour has motor and sailing charter excursions that leave right from our beach, so you can leave the property without leaving the property. Transportation Options

On arrival at the airport, guests can easily get a taxi to Secret Harbour. Taxi fees are regulated. Cost to/from Secret Harbour to the airport is $27 for one person or $18 per person for 2 or more people. There is an additional $3 fee for each piece of small luggage or $6 for large luggage. Prices are subject to change.

Private Transportation

Guests can arrange private transportation services from the airport for $120.00 Round Trip for up to 4 people including luggage and it takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the resort. Regular shared taxi transportation, for comparison, is around $30p/p and it typically takes more than an hour to get to the resort after you pick up your luggage. Taxis

Cost to/from Secret Harbour to the airport is $27 for one person or $18 per person for 2 or more people. There is an additional $3 fee for each piece of small luggage or $6 for large luggage.
Cost to/from Secret Harbour to the town of Charlotte Amalie for shopping, restaurants, attractions, and the cruise ship port is $23 for one person or $15 per person for 2 or more people.
Cost to/from Secret Harbour to the town of Red Hook for restaurants, shopping and the ferry to St John is $8 for one person.

Rental Cars

Major car rental agencies are located at Cyril E. King Airport. In addition, there are several local car rental agencies such as Charlerys within close range of the resort. Guests who mention Secret Harbour get a discount at Charlerys. Call (340) 725-9447

Open-Air Safari Buses

There are taxi drivers that run 'dollar rides' in safari buses on St. Thomas. A safari is a truck that has been outfitted with bench seating in the back. It is open air but covered. Not all safari buses are 'dollar rides', some are regular taxis. The 'dollar rides' do not have signs identifying them as such; however, they generally run the same route as the public bus and pull in or close to bus stops. If in doubt, ask the driver before boarding. Also ask where they are heading to make sure they are going the route you want to go. Safaris can be a fun and inexpensive way to get around – on island time.
